The modules
Overview chart
The overview chart shows your organic search performance over time. Use the metric pills above the chart to switch between organic visitors, keywords, top 10 rankings and top 3 rankings.
Each pill shows the value for the selected time range and the percentage change compared to the previous period. The line chart below shows how the selected metric developed over time.
Use this module first when you want to understand whether your website is gaining or losing search visibility. If organic visitors, keywords and top rankings move in the same direction, the trend is usually easier to read. If only one metric changes, open the rankings table or Search Console view to understand what caused it.
Rankings refresh automatically every week. You never trigger keyword updates yourself.
Keyword Rankings
Keyword Rankings is the main tyword Rankings is the main table in the seo suite. It shows which keywords your website ranks for, which URL is connected to each keyword and how much estimated traffic or opportunity is connected to that ranking.
The table shows:
- keyword, the search query your website ranks for
- URL, the page connected to the keyword
- location, the country, city or market the ranking belongs to
- rank and trend, the current position and how it changed
- estimated traffic, the potential traffic based on ranking data
- opportunity, the growth potential connected to the keyword
Use the rank slider to focus on a specific ranking range, such as positions 1 to 10 or positions 11 to 30. Use the location filter to review rankings for a specific market. Use the global and local pills to switch between broader rankings and city-level ranking views.
Each row gives you a quick way to judge whether a keyword is already performing well, close to a better position or worth turning into a content update or growth strategy.
Keyword detail
Open a keyword detail view when you want to inspect one keyword more closely.
The keyword detail view expands one ranking into a deeper view. It connects keyword information, performance metrics, visitor context and user journey data in one place.
Keyword Info can show details such as search volume, difficulty, search intent, SERP features and estimated traffic value.
Keyword Info also shows the AI Overview status: whether Google shows an AI Overview for this keyword, and whether it cites your site.
Metrics shows the real visits mandera analytics measured for the ranking page, next to rank over time.
Visitor Info can show countries, screens, browsers or operating systems connected to the keyword. User Journey helps you understand where visitors go after entering through the ranking page.
Use this view before you decide whether a keyword should become part of a content update, SEO improvement or growth strategy..
Optimize to outrank
Optimize to outrank helps you turn keyword data into action. It is designed for pages that already rank, but could perform better.
Ask mandera to climb a keyword and the AI reads the pages ranking above you, finds where they are strong and weak, and hands you the concrete content and meta changes to overtake them. Each one can become a strategy in the growth suite, tracked to real impact.
Use this module when you want to understand what the ranking page may need next. This can include stronger content depth, clearer answers, better structure, improved internal links or a more focused strategy.
The goal is to move from “this keyword ranks” to “this is what we should improve next.”
Google Search Console
GSC Lens
The seo suite can use Google Search Console data when the connection is active.
The GSC Lens helps you compare ranking and opportunity data with real search performance from Google. This can include clicks, impressions, average CTR and average position when Google Search Console is connected.
Use the GSC Lens when you want to understand what people actually searched for, how often your website appeared and how often users clicked through.
If no Search Console data appears, check whether Google Search Console is connected and whether Google has data for the selected website and time range.
Connect Google Search Console
Connect Google Search Console to give mandera access to real search performance data for your website.
To connect it:
- Open Settings.
- Go to the Google Search Console connection.
- Start the connection flow.
- Choose the Google account that has access to your website.
- Select the website you want to connect.
- Confirm the connection.
- Return to the seo suite and check the data.
After Google Search Console is connected, mandera can use real search data such as clicks, impressions, average CTR and average position.
If the connection does not work, check whether your Google account has access to the correct website in Google Search Console.
Ranking concepts
Where keywords come from
mandera retrieves every keyword your site already ranks for from a leading SEO database, automatically and refreshed every week. You never research or enter keywords yourself, the data comes in right after setup. Google Search Console is optional. Connect it and your real clicks and impressions appear next to the estimates. The context suite adds your business context on top, so keyword and opportunity analysis stays relevant to what you actually offer.
Estimated traffic vs actual traffic
The seo suite separates estimated traffic from actual traffic.
Estimated traffic is a forecast based on ranking data and expected search behavior. Use it to understand potential and compare keywords against each other.
Actual traffic is the real visits mandera analytics measured on your site. Use it to understand what already happened. You always see both numbers, never merged.
Both numbers are useful, but they answer different questions:
- estimated traffic shows potential
- actual traffic shows measured performance
A keyword can have high estimated traffic but low actual traffic if the page does not yet rank high enough or if searchers do not click it. A keyword can also have lower estimated traffic but still be valuable if it brings relevant visitors.
Local rankings
Rankings are available globally and at city level. Switch any keyword between global and local rankings for the cities that matter to you, and use the location filter in the Keyword Rankings table to focus on one market. This matters when customers search locally, for example “lawyer mainz” instead of “lawyer”.
Local ranking data helps you answer questions like:
- where this keyword performs best
- which city or market you should optimize for first
- whether rankings differ between locations
- whether one page needs localized content
If your business works in multiple markets, review the same keyword across different locations before deciding which page or content update should come first.
Common tasks
Search for a keyword
Use Search keywords at the top of the dashboard to find a specific keyword.
After selecting or searching for a keyword, review the ranking URL, location, rank trend, estimated traffic and opportunity value. Open the keyword detail view when you need more context.
Filter by rank
Use the rank range filter in the Keyword Rankings table to focus on a specific range.
For example, filter to positions 1 to 10 to review strong rankings, or positions 11 to 30 to find keywords that may be close to page one.
Filter by location
Use the location filter to review ranking data for a specific country, city or market.
This helps you understand how your website performs in different locations and where local optimization may be useful.
Switch between global and local
Use the global and local pills in the rankings table.
Global helps you review broader ranking visibility. Local helps you focus on rankings in a specific city or location context.
Understand ranking refreshes
Rankings refresh automatically every week. You never trigger keyword updates yourself.
Use the latest weekly data to review ranking changes, find new opportunities and decide which pages should be improved next.
Find SEO opportunities
Look for keywords with strong opportunity signals, good traffic potential or rankings close to better positions.
Then open the keyword detail or use optimize to outrank to decide what should be improved.
Improve a ranking
To improve a ranking, start with the keyword and the ranking URL.
Check whether the page matches the search intent, covers the topic clearly, answers the most important questions and links to relevant related pages.
Then use optimize to outrank or turn the opportunity into a strategy in the growth suite. mandera can help you plan the update, generate content and track the impact after changes go live.
